This project involved the complete replacement of the HVAC system and domestic water lines in a fully operational, two-story laboratory that operated 24/7 throughout the duration of the work.
Project DETAILS
- The scope of work included the demolition and replacement of essential components such as air handling units (AHUs), variable air volume (VAV) systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), exhaust fans, ductwork, mechanical and architectural louvers, fire dampers, fire alarm and suppression systems, concrete equipment foundations, HVAC control systems, condensate piping, and domestic water piping.
- Additional tasks encompassed the replacement of the membrane roofing system, upgrades to existing motor control center (MCC) panels, restroom renovations, and the installation of new interior finishes.
- Project execution required overcoming several challenges, including adherence to strict noise exposure limits, full containment of dust and debris, maintenance of temporary HVAC systems to ensure uninterrupted operation, and compliance with hot work restrictions. These measures ensured the continued functionality and safety of the laboratory while the work was performed.
