This project involved the construction of a concrete containment foundation, installation of a fiberglass slop oil tank and associated valve and piping systems.
Project DETAILS
- The scope of work included replacing the existing slop oil system by pouring a concrete containment area and equipment foundations, fabrication and installation of carbon steel piping, fabrication and installation of a fiberglass tank, and procurement and installation of a new slop oil pump.
- Following the commissioning of the new system, all equipment and piping from the old system were decommissioned and removed.
- Demolition activities included the removal of the existing carbon steel piping, the lifting and removal of two steel tanks, the removal of two pumps, and the saw-cutting of existing foundations down to grade.
- The lifting operations associated with the three tanks were classified as critical lifts, requiring detailed planning and execution.
- This comprehensive process ensured the successful replacement of the slop oil system while adhering to precise technical and safety standards.
